New Orleans – Police with bullhorns plan to go street to street this weekend with a tough message about getting out ahead of Hurricane Gustav: This time there will be no shelter of last resort. The doors to the Superdome will be locked. Those who stay will be on their own. New forecasts Friday made it increasingly clear that New Orleans will get some kind of hit — direct or indirect — by early next week. That raised the likelihood people would have to flee, and the city suggested a full-scale evacuation call could come as soon as Sunday. There will be the usual dufuses who say I have never left and I am not leaving for this one. OK. Let them drown. Don’t send rescue teams when they are under water.

I just wonder if they’re going to “make this city chocolate” again.

Also, this comes right on the trail of another article that says, basically, “Old black people can’t read in Louisiana”. Guess that’s why they went with bullhorns rather than billboards.

JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND PEOPLE WANTING TO LIVE THERE AND HAVING TO DEAL WITH THIS TIME AFTER TIME.

I read in Nutty News that 40% of the people in New Orleans can’t read. They probably wonder where did everyone go.

You don’t hear Houston saying come on over. We still have the lazy bastards from Katrina that never left from three years ago.

Houston mayor says to evacuees – you are welcome. We have plenty of hotel space. In other words, this time bring money, it is not going to be free.

dear lord please watch over them.

    ever hear of compassion people.

Compassion is one thing, Hippychick. Survival of the Fittest does more for the species. You should only have to tell people once to get out of the way of the big-ass huricane that’s going to slam into them. After that, they’re on their own. What would you have people do, lead them out by the hand while explaning just how the hurricane is going to dump enough water on them to make their house float downtown?

compassion for those that cannot do anything about their position. Those that willingly take on the risk of staying there… that is completely a different turn of things.
