Florida – A Key West treasure was almost lost at sea when famed palm weaver Michael Beaudet was rescued from his disabled sailboat Friday evening nine miles north of Garden Key after being adrift for six days. “First the rum ran out, then the cigarettes ran out, then the food ran out and then the water ran out. Thank God for the rain,” said Beaudet, perched atop a milk crate outside of the La Concha hotel on Duval Street, where he sells handmade palm baskets and hats.
