Australia – A chronic smoker blew himself up when he lit a cigarette while using an oxygen ventilator to help him breathe.
The 75-year-old man was admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong on Sunday with severe facial burns after lighting up in his home while the ventilator’s plastic tubes were still running to his nose.     First of all, I don’t feel sorry for stupid people and I don’t feel sorry for people who continue to smoke even after being diagnosed with a lung disease.

    Too bad he didn’t croak!

    At that age it isnt going to do him any good to quit smoking anyway. Especially if he has smoked his whole life.

    Hey, I understand. I was in a coma and ICU for a month. The first thing I wanted when I woke up was a cigarette. Of course they had me strapped down cause I kept trying to get up and go have one, connected to tubes coming out of every part of me you can imagine. I don’t say it was smart but I do understand.

    If alcoholism can be classified as a disease and people can get ssi disability, why not the same for smokers?
