Tauranga. – A 20-year-old tramper has been hospitalised after being attacked by a swarm of bees then falling down a 30m bluff near Tauranga.
The man failed to return from a short bush walk near Pyes Pa, 16km south of Tauranga, last night.

MESA — A man was arrested for child abuse after police say he turned on a clothes dryer while his 1-year-old son was inside it. Six men accused of stealing wedding ring from blind 86 year old woman

Chattanooga – Six people have been arrested and charged by Chattanooga Police after the attack of a blind 86 year old woman who was living alone. The woman went to the door thinking it was her granddaughter and that’s when three men rushed in on her and caused her to fall. The men then pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The suspects then took her cash, credit cards, and the wedding ring off her finger. When questioned by police one juvenile was wearing the 86 year old’s wedding band on his finger. Florida – Carrying a ”Fisher Island Chief of Police” badge and claiming he was a U.S. air marshal, Mark Rimkufski convinced Miami airline employees to allow him on a flight after the gate had closed, police said.
The ruse landed him in jail, Miami-Dade police said, when he was confronted — by real air marshals on the plane.

Teacher on leave after student shot with Nerf gun

BEAUFORT – A science teacher at Battery Creek High School was placed on paid administrative leave Monday after authorities say he shot a foam dart from a plastic Nerf gun at a student.
The mother of the 14-year-old girl who was hit with the dart said she wanted to pursue assault charges against Jeffery Baker, 29, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department report.

Canada – Mayor Stephen Mandel not only wants the city to somehow control the use of knives, he wants to launch a campaign to remind Edmontonians how dangerous blades can be.
“Edmontonians over the past few years have experienced an increasing threat from violence through indiscriminate use of knives,” Mandel said today, reading from a formal inquiry he was making.
“Action is needed.”

DENVER – A good Samaritan who pushed three people out of the path of a pickup before he was struck and injured has been ticketed for jaywalking. Family members say 58-year-old Jim Moffett and another man were helping two elderly women cross a busy Denver street in a snowstorm when he was hit Friday night.

NORTH WILDWOOD- North Wildwood police detectives, along with the United States Secret Service, made three arrests in connection with the production and use of counterfeit money.
On Feb. 20, Kelly Nowacky, 44, and her daughter, Ashley Fuhrmeister, 21, of North Wildwood, were arrested and charged with possession of forgery devices, forgery and conspiracy to commit forgery, according to a release.
