New York – Flying the presidential jet over lower Manhattan for a photo op, sending panicked New Yorkers running into the streets, was as “stupid a thing to do as one could dream up,” the White House said Wednesday. The city’s 911 operators were inundated with phone calls as residents of New York and New Jersey looked out their windows to see a jumbo jet and two fighters circling lower Manhattan, where nearly 3,000 people were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. This is basically the mentality os ignorant stupid new yorkers who have no common sense and are total babies.
Lets use connom sense and logic here………….Hmmmm….a jet airliner with 2 f16′s directly behind hit………well, if there was a threat they would have shot it down before it reached NY city or any building you idiots and not allowed it to hit anything.

This is typical panic of stupid human beings causing a riot over nothing and then blaming someones else foe their own ignorant fear of whatever.

Why would 2 f16′s allow a plane to fly into New York and hit something???? They wouldn’t. People are stupid. I think they should fly more planes like this over NY.

yeah .. and no one else cares!

Obama knew, and if any of you naysayers knew anything about the presidential office you would know that this denial is an absolute slap in your face.

No, it is not set in stone that a renegade play would be shot down by trailing F16′s. There is the byproduct of such a thing taking place. Not just the civil worries of an error or some other media fiasco.. but the actual damage sustained by a “miss” and a “hit” would have to be considered. More than likely a plane would be allowed to continue on a course unless it were be targeting a military or hot target “pentagon, white house, etc.” Civilian damage is collateral damage and can be explained away, especially by those that think Obama is a good president, a good choice for a president, and that his administration is good for the country.

your comment is too long so i just read the end … Obama is a good president, a good choice for a president, and that his administration is good for the country.

if i lived thru 9/11 and years later saw 3 planes flying by my office window… i would’ve freaked out too… have some compassion jerk.

  14. Anonymous Says:

its one thing to get freaked out for a second .. but the way these people are still over reacting to this almost a week later is just annoying

we all know yorkers like to talk, but its time to shut up now

11:07, not that I really disagree with all you said, but they have said before that they will shoot down any aircraft like that before. I would think they would have done so long before it was able to enter NY airspace though. Or before any densely populated areas.

didn’t you guys hhear what Obama said the other day?

“DON’T EVER! ask what the country can do for you but, yo..Ask what yall can do for yall Country..”

There is the myth that still persists that the response time is enough to do such a ting. It isn’t. When a plane is on a normal flight path nothing is amiss and it takes but seconds to deviate and even longer to confirm there is something wrong.

Following a chain of events to an actual shoot out of the sky launch is amazingly still way too long to call it a safe and even good backup plan.

We have had a shoot out of the sky UFO (in the sense of any “unidentified objects sci-fi or real” over American air space since the late 1930′s. Until 911, we were very lucky in terms of actual attack and death resulting from it.

I would hope that in the light of 9/11 we have not gone to the jump to conclusion and just blow anything out of the sky mentality. Too many things can happen that are innocent and benign while in a plane. This is just playing into the hands of terrorist and government that want to control every aspect of your life. That… is the real scary thing. Death sucks, terrorist actions even more so, but what would suck even more is to blow a plane out of the sky that was having navigation and communication errors at the same time. It happens, rarely, but it does happen. Killing 200 people on a mistake is not something I would want an American pilot to have to go home and explain to his kids what happened. By the time you really know a plane is going to be used and not be able to be stopped in doing another 9/11… it is already to late.
