cigarillosWisconsin – A convenience store clerk who saw two masked men enter the store via surveillance camera locked himself in the store’s office, thwarting the crook’s attempts to get into the cash register, police said. The clerk locked the office door and called 911. The clerk said they didn’t get into the cash register, but a couple of cigarillos could be missing.   Full Article

Woman does not recognize the state of Montana

Ford, 37, is accused of stealing a Lolo home – first by attempting to transfer the property deed over to herself, and then by physically moving in and changing the locks. “Jackiya does not want to enter a plea because she does not recognize the state of Montana as the entity,” said Paulette Ferguson, the public defender representing Ford.  Full Article

Feds scrutinize the arrest of Chinese diplomat

police5Houston, Texas – Three Houston police officers have been assigned desk duties as city and federal authorities scrutinize the arrest of a local Chinese diplomat who says police hit him in the face during a traffic stop. Yu said he was traveling with his wife in a consulate vehicle when he saw a police patrol car with flashing lights behind him. Yu said he stopped his vehicle and waited several minutes, but drove off when the officer remained in his car and took no apparent action.  Full Article

Man Shoots Neighbor With Bow & Arrow Over Parking

bowPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania – Just after 11 p.m., police received a report that a man, identified as Anthony Giovannini, 35, was struck with what he believed was a rock as he was walking inside of his house on the 400 block of Franklin Street. Giovannini told police that after being struck, he looked and observed his neighbor, later identified as Robert Wood, 41, entering his home. The victim then noticed an arrow protruding from his back.  Full Article

Bystander stops bank robbery

car1PALM BAY, Florida – It took 62-year-old Ruben Torres a New York minute to become a Palm Bay hero. That was the amount of time it took for the off-duty security guard to spot a suspected bank robber in the lobby of the Space Coast Credit Union, retrieve his gun, and hold the bandit until patrol officers arrived. Police credit Torres — who has a concealed-weapons permit — with thwarting the bank robbery at the credit union at 152 Malabar Road.  Full Article

Police dismiss robbery in progress as stag night

police4Sweden – When police received a call about an ongoing robbery at a shopping centre in Norrköping in eastern Sweden they dismissed the report as stag night antics and declined to send a unit. The report turned out to be valid but the robbery was averted as the gang elected to break off their heist.  Full Article
