Nurse convicted in bleach deaths case

Nutty News Lufkin, Texas – A former Texas nurse accused of  killing five of her patients and injuring five others by injecting bleach into  their kidney dialysis tubing was found guilty of capital murder. Kimberly Clark Saenz, 38, was fired in April 2008  after a rash of illnesses and deaths at a Lufkin dialysis clinic run by  Denver-based health care giant DaVita Inc. She was charged a year later. The mother of two now faces life in prison or a death sentence as the case moved  to the punishment phase.  Full Article

Nutty News Kentucky – He told police that he was just looking for a pregnant horse, which was loose. She says she was just out looking for peat moss in order to decorate for a wedding, and wasn’t wearing any shoes or a shirt while doing so. The two were allegedly trying to burglarize a vacant home in the Rockholds community only a few hundred yards from where they lived. Deputies charged Eric Wayne Flowers, 42, and Candice Louise Dodd, 40, both of Youngs Lane, Rockholds, with second-degree burglary.  Full Article

Nutty News Canada – Three doctors cycling behind a 45-year-old man rushed to his aid after the man suffered a possible cardiac arrest while biking. The man fell off his bike at about 2 p.m. near Bay Street. The three doctors – including a cardiologist – were cycling behind him at the time and immediately stopped to help. Shooting At Funeral Kills 2, Injures 14

Nutty News Miami, Florida – Gunmen in a passing car fired into a crowd of mourners outside a Northeast Miami-Dade funeral home, injuring 14 people and killing two according to preliminary reports. Witnesses said the funeral was for 22-year-old Marvin Andre, who was killed in a previous shooting. Between 60 and 100 people were reportedly on the sidewalk outside Funeraria Latina Emanuel on West Dixie Highway when at least one person inside a white Pontiac or Impala opened fire.  Full Article

The elderly stand-up comedian called cops after he and a gal pal  got into a tiff in his apartment and he wound up scratched on his arm. The 48-year-old woman, Kaoru Suzuki- McMullen (Picture), was arrested and charged with  misdemeanor assault. Mason, who cops said is 83, was at his W. 57th St. apartment with  Suzuki-McMullen, who they described as his girlfriend, at 6:30 a.m. when they  got into an argument.  Full Article

Nutty News Colorado – A Colorado man was sentenced to five years’  probation after accidentally shooting a woman whose red mohawk he mistook for a  fowl that had been harassing his cats. Derrill Rockwell, 49, told police that he grabbed  his .22-caliber rifle and set out from his home to fire at the bird after  spotting it at the top of a hill about 90 feet away. But after shooting at the bird, the man said he  noticed it didn’t fly away and he reported hearing a woman moaning in pain.  Full Article

Nutty News Medford, Oregon – Police have arrested a Medford, Ore., man accused of  firing two shots into the air to quiet a pair of neighborhood children playing  outside his trailer. Officers responded to the Shirleen Trailer Park after 911  callers reported the shots. 42-year-old Danny Way had become angry with the amount of noise the 9-year-old and 14-year-old were making and walked outside. The man was about 10 feet away when he fired a .9 mm handgun  twice in their direction, but in the air over their heads.  Full Article

The Tennessee Court of Appeals said Lauren Jarrell must face a criminal contempt hearing for violating a court order that said major decisions regarding the religious upbringing of her two children should be made jointly with her-ex-husband. Nutty News California – A California woman has reportedly filed a federal lawsuit against McDonald’s, claiming the fast-food franchise had a role in her becoming a prostitute two decades ago. Shelley Lynn claims in the suit that she was “economically and psychologically” coerced into prostitution by her ex-husband and former manager at a McDonald’s in Arroyo Grande, California. Lynn, who was hired by the restaurant to work behind the counter in 1982, claims that her former boss and ex-husband, Keith Handley, pushed her into prostitution in Nevada and also “engaged in pimping operations out of the McDonald’s franchises he owned.”  Full Article

10-Year-Old Charged With Felony For Stealing Bicycle

Nutty News Fort Walton Beach, Florida – A 10-year-old child was arrested and charged with felony burglary after stealing a bicycle, temporarily leaving his tricycle at the scene of the crime in order to get away successfully. A local woman reportedly had her bicycle stolen, along with her son’s air rifle. Responding officers found the suspect, Daryl Pitts, nearby in possession of a bicycle whose serial numbers matched those of the one he had to the one that was stolen.  Full Article

Andrew James Britt was arrested when police discovered he was making meth  in a camper in a stranger’s yard. The caller told police someone had been living in a camper in their yard without their permission. At first, she said he was back home in Oklahoma, but police reportedly dug up the truth in the backyard of their Tampa Bay home. The man, Benny Scott, was buried in the garden of the couple’s Lake Alfred home beneath the oregano, basil and banana peppers. Nutty News Houston, Texas – With pastures withered from a lingering drought, farmers in Texas and northwest Louisiana have abandoned donkeys by the hundreds, turning them into wandering refugees that have severely tested animal rescue groups. A rescue group said since March 2011, it has taken in nearly 800 donkeys abandoned in Texas, where ranchers mainly used the animals to guard their herds. Many of the cattle and goats have been sold off. Donkeys are instinctively hostile to dogs and their cousins: wolves and coyotes. They will bray, bare their teeth, run and chase, and attempt to bite and kick an intruder.  Full Article
