California – A California couple said they had trouble sleeping for a couple nights when their dog chased a red racer snake into the house and the reptile went into hiding. Mike and Tracy Mandelbaum, who live in a ranch-style house in the Moreno Valley in Riverside County, said their dog chased the 3-foot non-venomous reptile into the house and they were unable to locate it. The couple said they had trouble sleeping with the snake in the house. Full Article

Germany – The woman met her latest victim, a 31-year-old African man, on her way home from a sex addiction clinic in Munich. She invited him back to her flat where she kept him hostage and forced him to satisfy her sexual demands. The victim eventually managed to break out of the apartment after his attacker fell asleep. He was later found weeping on the street by police. He fought back tears to tell them: “I met her on a bus. She invited me back here. It was hell. I can’t walk. Please help me.” Full Article

Going nude wasn’t a snap decision. Owner Paul Hodge first had to convince his skeptical wife. And he has yet to sway some of his concerned neighbors, who fear the soon-to-be nude motel will expose tourists, and local children, to some unwanted sightseeing. California – BMW North America has probably had to deal with plenty of unusual lawsuits, but one may be a first – a California man says the seat on his motorcycle has given him an erection he just can’t shake. Henry Wolf of California is suing BMW America and aftermarket seatmaker Corbin-Pacific claiming his issue began after a four-hour ride on his 1993 BMW motorcycle, with a ridge like seat. He said he’s had the erection non-stop for 20 months. BMW Motorcycles checked out the story and noted the man wasn’t riding a standard BMW motorcycle seat. He was on an after-market seat. Ohio – Jamie Calloway, a 33-year-old Ohio woman was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a misdemeanor menacing by stalking count. According to a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the alleged stalking victim is a female corrections officer whom Calloway took a liking to during a prior jail term. Calloway allegedly has slashed the woman’s tires, called her home, and sent her packages in the mail.

Connecticut – Police say a 63-year-old woman was driving drunk when she crashed her car through the entrance of a liquor store and continued down the center aisle in East Haven. Sharon Brooks’ vehicle crossed over the sidewalk, crashed through the entrance and went down the center aisle of Yankee Discount Liquor store knocking down bottles of alcohol and terrifying those inside. A worker at the liquor store suffered minor injuries. Brooks was not injured. Full Article

Pennsylvania – Two teenage girls who were sunbathing along Donald Avenue were hurt after being struck by a car. Samantha Schermanhorn and Kaylie George, both 13, had to be flown by helicopter to a hospital after they fell asleep while sunbathing in the roadway and were hit by the car. Nicole and Nicholas Beck said they witnessed the aftermath of the incident. They said their 19-year-old brother was driving on Donald Avenue and had stopped at a stop sign before making a turn and hitting the two girls. Full Article

Florida – A Florida moonshiner has been arrested for luring customers with fruit-flavored booze, investigators say. Bob Tibbs, 69, was arrested after a two-month undercover investigation. He was released after posting $5,500 bail. Deputies said they purchased moonshine flavored with apple, blackberry and strawberry as well as the unflavored stuff. Tibbs also sold fresh fish. Oklahoma – Preston Hodge, 14, underwent surgery for broken cheek bones after a fight erupted following a dodge ball game at Enid Middle School. An Enid police report states that Hodge and another boy got into a fight after they bumped into each other. Police say Hodge made a comment to the boy and that’s when the boy began repeatedly punching Hodge in the face, breaking his cheek bone and leaving him unconscious. The boy stopped only when he heard someone say to quit hitting him. Full Article

Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a portable methamphetamine lab exploded in a man’s pants as he tried to run away from a state trooper during a traffic stop. Trooper Shiloh Hall says the man had an active meth lab in his pants that burst during a struggle with the trooper. Washington – Seattle police arrested a highly intoxicated man after he reported his car stolen, only for officers to find him sitting in the passenger seat when they responded to the 911 call. The man was facing charges of making a false police report. The man made the call just after midnight, claiming his 2009 Audi had been stolen and that he gave chase but the thief drove away. When police arrived at the scene, they quickly found the car — with the man sitting in it. Full Article

Mexico – A woman in Mexico is due to give birth to nine babies — to add to the four children she already has. Karla Vanessa Castaneda Perez is scheduled to give birth by caesarian section in Arteaga, northeast Mexico, when she will be seven months pregnant. The 32-year-old — who already has a four-year-old son and six-month-old triplets — said she was struggling to sleep over concerns about buying enough milk, diapers and clothes for the babies.
