Dr. Kenny Banh of University of California San Francisco Fresno Emergency Medicine said a man came into the emergency room in August with an unusual story to tell.

“He asked me for worm treatment and I was like oh, not an everyday request,” Banh told KFSN-TV.

Banh, who first told the story to podcast This Won’t Hurt a Bit, said he is usually skeptical of patients who self-diagnose, but the man had a pretty compelling story — and a grocery bag containing evidence.  More

trainsJapanese train researchers have developed new technology they hope will scare animals, specifically deer, away from railroad tracks.

The system will mimic barking sounds from dogs and snorting sounds from deer to prevent train-animal collisions on the tracks.

Testing from researchers at Tokyo’s Railway Technical Research Institute suggests it may be successful.

Its use in early trials correlated with a 45-percent reduction in deer sightings from the train every 100 kilometers, The Asahi Shimbun reported.  More

Date: January 13th, 2018

Category: Nutty News

jfkNEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Chaos continued Wednesday at John F. Kennedy International Airport, as thousands remained without their luggage days after snow closed the airport and a water pipe broke at one of the main terminals.

As CBS2 Political Reporter Marcia Kramer reported, unclaimed luggage was still everywhere at the airport Wednesday.

Some of it was covered with salt stains as if it had been left of the tarmac.

There was little security at the baggage claim area, where passengers from flights arriving Wednesday mixed with those who landed over the weekend in an attempt to find their suitcases.

Some likely weren’t sure if they took the right ones, and they were left in a state of utter frustration.  More
