PALERMO, Italy - Italian police burst into the room of a suspected Mafia mobster in Sicily and arrested him as he watched a television show about the arrest of a Mafia boss, investigators said Friday.
Police said Michele Catalano was watching the concluding chapter late Thursday of the TV mini-series “The Boss of Bosses,” recounting the arrest in 1993 of real-life Cosa Nostra leader Salvatore “Toto” Riina, when he was detained. Pedophile allowed to work in kindergarten - Abuses two children

BERLIN, Germany - A convicted pedophile sentenced to do community service in a German kindergarten will return to court next week to face charges of abusing two children there, a regional prosecutor’s office said Thursday.
The man was allowed to work as a janitor at the Evangelical Kindergarten St Petri in Melle, near the northern city of Osnabrueck, because a court worker missed three prior pedophilia convictions on his record, said Alexander Retemeyer, spokesman for the Osnabrueck prosecutor’s office. SPOKANE, Washington - They made a list, but they should have checked it twice. In a December newsletter to the families of elementary school students, Spokane Public Schools’ list of “important dates” didn’t include Christmas.

Paramedic charged with stealing man’s wallet as he died in the ambulance

CANTON, Ohio - A Plain Township paramedic who was called to save the life of an ailing 79-year-old man was arraigned Friday on charges he stole the man’s wallet as he died. Robert S. Johnson, 37, of 5277 14th St. SW, faces two counts of felony theft — one charge of stealing a credit card and another for stealing cash, court records say. LYNNWOOD, Washington - Police said an intoxicated 15-year-old Seattle girl led them on a wild vehicle chase early Thursday that ended in Lynnwood. The girl reportedly was so agitated she had to be strapped to a gurney and fitted with a mask to prevent her from spitting. “She was an extremely serious threat to the motoring public and it was a good thing she was apprehended. Port Richey, Florida — Joseph Errichiello is trying to walk a straight line but he is having trouble, just like he did when he was arrested for DUI on September 1st.
Errichiello says they asked him if he’d been drinking again and he said no. He says they told him he was under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Cousins fought over cheese sandwich - One dead, one charged with murder

MANITOWOC, Wisconsin — A fight between cousins over a cheese sandwich at the Manitowoc County Jail left one inmate dead and another charged with murder, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.
Juan P. Jaimes, 19, died Nov. 18 as a result of injuries sustained in a Nov. 16 fight with his cousin, Miguel C. Gamez, 22, according to authorities.Gamez was charged this week in Manitowoc County Circuit Court with felony murder, and faces up to 27 years in prison if convicted. Foster Parents’ License Revoked For Religious Practices - Snake-Handling

LONDON, Kentucky - A southeastern Kentucky couple who say they refused to agree not to attend snake-handling religious services have sued a foster-care agency after their license was revoked.
The same foster-care agency being sued is the agency that was under fire over the Marcus Fiesel case last year.
