CONWAY, Arkansas - A Conway-area man died from electrocution while he was using jumper cables to hook up power to his house after his electricity was shut off.
Authorities say 33-year-old Lonnie Montgomery was found dead Wednesday outside his home on Skunk Hollow Road. He was still clutching one end of a set of jumper cables. New York - A Long Island fisherman has died after a freak accident in which a weighted lure hit him in the eye and lodged in his brain.
Jaime Chicas, 21, was angling on some rocks at Jones Beach at about 8 p.m. Friday when his line snapped back and a 3-ounce sinker recoiled violently, penetrating his eye socket and hitting his brain. INDIANAPOLIS - A man was shot by at least one of two Indianapolis Metro police officers early Thursday morning on the city’s northwest side. Police said they stopped the Cary George Osborne, 45, in the parking lot of a Denny’s restaurant in the 8800 block of Michigan Road at about 1 a.m. after he was spotted driving erratically. IMPD Sgt. Utah - A Utah woman who admitted forging checks using business names she picked from the phone book has been sentenced to 70 months in a federal prison for bank fraud and identity theft. Justine Coppolino, 39, who was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Dee Benson, also had admitted cashing fraudulent personal checks. Authorities said one of these checks bore the forged signature of Howard Lemcke, a Salt Lake County deputy district attorney. Illinois - A Bellwood man deliberately ran over and killed a motorcyclist in an attempt to avoid filing a police accident report, authorities said Thursday. South Carolina - Police were called to a home in the 800 block of Zeigler Road in West Columbia at 7 a.m. Saturday after a woman said a man broke into her home and gave her a foot rub.
The woman told officers she and her husband were asleep in bed when she woke to find an unknown man at the foot of her bed, massaging her feet.
