Two days before St. Paul’s College was supposed to open the 2009 football season, the Tigers canceled Saturday’s contest with West Virginia Wesleyan. The reason, West Virginia Wesleyan athletic director Ken Tyler said Friday, was a lack of equipment. TAMPA, Florida - Police say it took two hours to get a drunk man out of his home, where he armed and barricaded himself after refusing to pay his cab fare. Andrew Jason Hickey, 22, took a United Cab to his home, according to the Tampa Police Department. There, he refused to pay the $6 fare. Hickey then went inside and came back out with a handgun, and threatened to shoot the driver. More…

France - When rescue workers arrived, Diana was conscious, uttering, “My God” and “Leave me alone” to the paparazzi. Although she had suffered internal injuries, she did not arrive at the Parisian hospital for 110 minutes - too late for the surgery that could have saved her life. Diana’s last hour — in cardiac arrest and bleeding to death — was spent in a mobile medical unit parked a few hundred yards from Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, where an emergency team followed French protocol and administered treatment at the scene of the accident and en route to the hospital.
