It’s not economics. It costs more to be white.

This issue never would have been brought up if a black doll sold for more than a white doll. If it did, whites would still be called racist. It’s a lose-lose situation here.

It is economics as Hector said. The black doll costing more (gkc scenario) is only if they were selling more, which they are not. And “white” goods do cost more as anon said, but the reason for that is the same reason with the dolls. Majority has a higher cost of living.

Worry not though, they predict in 2040 or 2050 whitey won’t be the majority and all your costs will be reduced!!

If black Barbie cost more than the white ones then the same people that are crying racism would be complaining about the high cost of the black Barbie. They would say it is racism for the black one to be more because the company selling them want you to buy the white one and therefore its lower price. Anyway you look at it the retailer is in a catch 22 situation. My opinion is that it is pure economics.
