Bumbling would-be burglar fails to break into store with large rock

burglarA bumbling burglar was caught on camera failing to break into a Massachusetts market using a large rock.

The Norwood Police Department shared surveillance footage of a man dressed in a hooded sweatshirt as he attempted to break into a local market by hurling a large rock through a glass door.

“He has the ability to hurl a 10 pound boulder, multiple times, but lacks the strength to provide proper trajectory in order to gain entry,” police said.

The man was eventually able to send the boulder through the glass door after three failed attempts, but couldn’t create a large enough hole to enter the building.  More

Burglary suspect rescued from home’s chimney

chimneyPolice in California arrested an alleged bad-luck burglar who ended up trapped inside a home’s chimney and abandoned by his accomplices.

The Ridgecrest Police Department said officers were dispatched to a home Sunday on a report of a triggered burglary alarm, and police received a phone call moments later from a woman who reported her friend was trapped in a chimney at the same address where the alarm was triggered.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered Keith Schultz, 28, trapped in the chimney. They said the woman who called police was gone by the time they arrived.

Police said Schultz apparently became trapped in the chimney while trying to break into the residence.  More

Teen named ‘Cheese’ robs pizza delivery guy of 2 pies at gunpoint

cheeseA teenager was arrested and charged as an adult after robbing a pizza delivery guy.

17-year-old Sheldon Cheese of Pennsylvania, is facing felony charges after robbing the pizza delivery driver at gunpoint.

Cheese, who lives in York, was identified as the suspect after he left his wallet and identification card in a friend’s car.

Police said that Cheese knocked on the pizza delivery driver’s window, and when the victim got out of his car, the accomplice, Logan Alexander, 18, pointed a gun.  More

Men Pocket Dial 911, Discuss Plot To Rob BBQ Joint

bbqKentucky – Two Kentucky men were arrested on Saturday after they accidentally called 911, tipping off authorities to their alleged plan to rob a BBQ restaurant where the local police chief happened to be dining.

Robert Bourne and David Grigsby were sitting in their car outside of Brothers’ BBQ in Danville when the emergency function on one of their phones inadvertently connected with a 911 dispatcher, according to LEX-18.

The dispatcher listened in to the call and heard the two men allegedly discussing places they might rob, including Brothers’ BBQ.

Authorities determined where the call originated and contacted Danville police chief Tony Gray, who, as it turned out, was enjoying a meal inside the mentioned restaurant.  More

Burglary suspects tried to sell stolen goods at victim’s pawn shop

pawnCLARKSVILLE, TENN. – Two people were arrested Tuesday after they tried to pawn items at a Riverside Drive pawn shop that belonged to the pawn shop owner.

According to a report from Clarksville Police, Jeremy Allen Watts, 30, and Jessica Faye Heady, 24, visited the Cash America Pawn shop on Riverside Drive with several items to pawn.

The pawn shop owner and victim, Edward Dial, recognized the items and went home, the report said.

There, he noticed that someone had broken into his residence and taken several items, the report said.  More
