uberA Pennsylvania Uber driver will make it to Rio to watch his son compete in the Olympics thanks to a passenger’s kindness.

During an hour-long ride in Philadelphia last week, driver and proud father Ellis Hill shared with customer Liz Willock that his son would be representing the U.S. Olympic Track & Field team.

At the time, Willock had missed her flight but would later say she was ‘fated to meet’ the father.

When Willock asked if Hill was flying to Brazil to cheer for his son Darrell, a World-Class athlete, the retired bus driver explained he would love to go, but could not afford it.  More

When GSPCA manager Steve Byrne brought the box into another room to check the animal for any identification, he was pleasantly surprised to find it was a wet, mud-covered puppet.  More

Casey Bono, 19, and his 24-year-old brother Colin saved the day, braving wildly turbulent currents to pull out a handful of struggling swimmers on Rexhame Beach, The Patriot Ledger reported.

“He’s really weak. He can’t swim for himself,” Casey said. “So (Colin) puts him over his shoulders and swims him in all the way through the riptide.”

As Colin safely returned him to shore, the grateful victim stared up at him in awe. “He looks at me and says, ‘Are you Jesus?’”  More

wheelCanada – A Canadian cop who went undercover as a wheelchair-bound citizen hoping to nab crooks taking advantage of the vulnerable, managed only to capture a good deal of good news.

Vancouver Police Department Staff Sgt. Mark Horsley recently disguised himself as a brain-injured individual, confined to a motorized wheelchair, and sat on the streets of the city’s Downtown Eastside neighborhood, reports the National Post.

Since January 2014, the neighborhood has seen 14 violent attacks on people in wheelchairs, according to CTV News. The National Post, calling the neighborhood “drug-infested,” reports that number to be as high as 28.

Horsely said he thought he would be uniquely positioned, in that wheelchair, to catch someone either trying to rob him or otherwise take of advantage of him.  More   Watch video at Nutty News Videos

Neighbors In Texas Repay Store Cashier After Act Of Kindness Results In Theft

askenTexas - “Last week, I was at my neighborhood Walgreens in Keller, Texas, when I witnessed something pretty cool,” customer Karridy Askenasy wrote on Facebook. “I approached the counter to pay for my items, and the young man apologized that he couldn’t check me out, because he was waiting for the previous customer to get some money from her car.”

Askenasy said he looked out of the window to the parking lot and spotted a woman getting into her car and driving away. “That one? The one driving away?” he asked the cashier.

The young man, later identified as Christian Griffan (picture), disappointedly pulled out his own debit card and swiped it to reimburse the $6 the woman spent on formula.

“I’m like ‘you’re gonna pay for that? You shouldn’t pay for it … you’ve got cameras, get her plates and get her back here to pay for it!’” Askenasy said. He was so taken aback by the kindness displayed by the young cashier that he shared the story on a neighborhood social media site called NextDoor.  More
