State Licensing Rules Could Send A Woman To Jail Just for Touching a Horse

Posted By Staff

Date: February 17th, 2017

horseIf Laurie Wheeler puts her hands on a horse, she could go to jail.

Not because she would hurt the animal—she’d never think of doing such a thing—but because of an anonymous complaint submitted to the state’s licensing board that governs veterinary medicine.

Wheeler has been studying horse massage since 2010, when she adopted an abandoned horse suffering from a potentially life-threatening neurological condition known as equine protozoal myeloencephalitis.

Her horse, Jazz, was treated with a mix of medication and massage therapy, and Wheeler became interested in the practice.  More

Date: February 15th, 2017

lincolnDENVER - A number of questions are being raised after a call to 911 is said to have gone unanswered for more than 15 minutes.

The call was made to report an armed robbery in the Whittier neighborhood on Sunday at approximately 8 p.m.

Michael Davanzo was at work at the Whittier Cafe when he says the Lincoln Market next door was robbed.

“The cashier and one of the patrons from next door were at our front door trying to get in, so we ran up front real quick and unlocked it and let them in,” Davanzo said.

The two men who showed up at the door had already called 911 for help.  More

Posted By Staff

Date: October 24th, 2016

postAustralia – The Australian postal service has apologized for delivering a letter half a century after it was sent from an island in the South Pacific.

A couple from Adelaide found the faded postcard, from the French Polynesian island of Tahiti, resting on their doorstep under a gas bill.

It bore a postmark of 1966 and was addressed to one “Robert Giorgio,” according to the Adelaide Advertiser.

The postcard, which was written by someone named “Chris,” reads: “[I am] enjoying myself greatly. The weather is very humid … I’ll try and drop you a note in England.”  More

Miami Sprays Dangerous Insecticide That Causes Microcephaly

Date: August 8th, 2016

sprayFlorida – The Zika scare has not only stirred massive media hysteria; it has now unleashed a dangerous campaign to spray a neurotoxic chemical over the city of Miami and surrounding areas.

What damage it will cause remains to be seen, but its use as a means of controlling mosquitoes and stopping Zika should raise serious alarm bells, as its effectiveness has already been discredited and its risks are unacceptable.

The crew and aircraft used in the operation was flown in from Sarasota. The King Air Beechcraft fixed-wing, dual-engine plane is specially equipped with nozzles on the wing to disperse the chemical, called Naled, that is meant to kill adult mosquitoes that could be carrying the Zika virus.

Naled can cause respiratory problems in people who are exposed to it and long term exposure can cause possible neurological problems, according to Cornell University.  More

NASA shuts down live International Space Station feed as ‘mysterious UFO enters Earth’s atmosphere’

Posted By Staff

Date: July 13th, 2016

ufoUFO spotters have raised the alarm after the International Space Station live feed cut out just as a large mysterious object appeared to enter Earth’s atmosphere.

The incident occurred on July 9 and was first reported by prolific UFO hunter Streetcap1 in a video uploaded the same day.

The enthusiast did not directly imply that the object was an alien spacecraft saying: “This could well be a meteor or the like.

But he implied that the camera being turned off was slightly sinister: “What made it interesting was that the camera cut off when the UFO seemed to stop.”  More

Disabled woman beaten bloody by TSA agents after becoming confused and afraid at security checkpoint

Posted By Staff

Date: July 1st, 2016

hannahMemphis – A disabled woman was beaten bloody by federal agents during an airport security screening while on her way to undergo treatment for a brain tumor.

Hannah Cohen set off the metal detector at a security checkpoint at the Memphis International Airport, and she was led away for additional screening, reported WREG-TV.

“They wanted to do further scanning, (but) she was reluctant — she didn’t understand what they were about to do,” said her mother, Shirley Cohen.

Cohen said she tried to tell agents with the Transportation Security Administration that her 19-year-old daughter is partially deaf, blind in one eye, paralyzed and easily confused — but she said police kept her away from the security agents.  More  Video

Pentagon honors teen hacker for exposing department’s online flaws

Posted By Staff

Date: June 19th, 2016

hackedWASHINGTON DC – An 18-year-old recent high school graduate was one of two people singled out by the Pentagon for hacking into its website and Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said he was thankful — to the hackers.

Carter met with the teen, David Dworken, and another hacker, Craig Arendt, the two who identified the highest number of potential vulnerabilities in several Defense Department websites, including its main one, www.defense.gov.

The hackers were participating in the Pentagon’s first “bug bounty,” where it asked those with computer hacking capabilities to investigate five public websites and identify potential lapses in security where a nefarious hacker could do damage.

If those participating identify a legitimate security breach, they earn a bounty.  Source
