tumorBAKERSFIELD, California – A California doctor removed a 130-pound tumor from a Mississippi man who’d been told by other physicians he was just fat.

Roger Logan, 57, had the non-cancerous growth removed on January 31 at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, where he will remain for another week or so before returning home.

The tumor probably started as an ingrown hair that became infected, swelled and developed its own blood supply, Logan’s surgeon, Dr. Vipul Dev, told a local newspaper.

Logan says he first noticed the growth about 15 years ago.  More

Date: January 25th, 2017

SICK1. Wash your washing machine
Sure you wash your clothes to kill germs, but when was the last time you washed your washing machine.
Bacteria and fungus can build up over time especially in the seals of front-loading washing machines.
Many manufactures offer a specialized cleaner, although two tablespoons of white vinegar will also do the trick. Just put the white vinegar where the detergent usually goes and run the clean cycle.
Most manufactures recommend you do this one a month.

2. Avoid alcohol
Too much alcohol can depress your immune system which make you more susceptible to colds.
Plus, if you’re already sick, some doctors say even a single drink can prolong a virus for several more days.  More

Zoo Begs Public To Catch Deadly Spiders For Milking

Posted By Staff

Date: January 24th, 2017

spiderAn Australian zookeeper on Tuesday urged people to catch and donate deadly funnel-web spiders, to help replenish stocks of antidote running low after a spate of spider bites.

The Australian Reptile Park, the country’s sole supplier of funnel-web venom to antidote producers since 1981, relies on the public to hand in spiders that are milked for the venom used to produce an antidote.

The anti-venom program was now at risk after too few spiders were donated last year and a recent heatwave encouraged more spider activity and bites, the park’s general manager, Tim Faulkner, said on Tuesday.  More

“It was the longest weekend of my life,” said Yogi’s mom Linda Coppola of Langhorne, Bucks County. In January 2016, a routine trip to the vetrevealed Yogi had lymphoma.

“They said we had to get treatment right away,” Coppola said.

“It’s quite an aggressive type of disease,” said Dr. Nicola Mason of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine, adding “often times initially the dogs actually feel quite well but without treatment it can progress and quite rapidly lead to some fatalities within about 6-8 weeks if they’re not treated.”  More

Date: October 21st, 2016

botoxGuys are now getting Botox injected to their—ahem—ballsacks to decrease sweating, reduce wrinkles, and make their scrotum appear bigger.

In fact, the number of fellas looking to give their family jewels a facelift has almost doubled, according to UK tabloid The Sun Online—although that number is still pretty small overall.

“The idea of injecting Botox into the scrotum to smooth the wrinkles has been around for many years among plastic surgeons; however, none of us thought it would be something consumers would request,” says Matthew Schulman, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon based in New York City.  More
