Date: December 24th, 2016

santaCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Tens of thousands of children from around the world plan to call the North American Aerospace Defense Command to ask where Santa is, and starting Saturday they will get a cheery answer about the mythical route from a real person, not a recording.

The wildly popular NORAD Tracks Santa operation is launching its 61st run at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Volunteers will answer phone calls and emails and post updates about Santa’s storybook world tour on Facebook and Twitter.

Navy Lt. Cmdr. Paul Noel said 1,500 volunteers answered nearly 141,000 phone calls and more than 2,800 emails last year. The NORAD spokesman is quick to say his name really is Noel.  More

northIt was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt. Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration. There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator, “did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?”

Ollie replied, “yes Sir, I did”.

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience,

“Isn’t that just a little excessive?”  More

McDonalds heist thwarted by table full of elite soldiers having lunch

Posted By Staff

Date: June 7th, 2016

tableTwo men attempted to carry out an armed robbery on a McDonald’s in France – only to be thwarted by a table full of soldiers from an elite military unit having their lunch at the restaurant.

The thieves burst into the restaurant in the eastern commune of Ecole-Valentin on Sunday night – one firing a warning gunshot while the other began raiding the tills, as customers and employees fled the scene.

However, the two men were completely unaware of the presence of a dozen elite special operations soldiers – all trained in dealing with hostage situations.  Source

Judge sentences veteran to 24 hours in jail, then joins him behind bars

Posted By Staff

Date: April 23rd, 2016

judgeThe judge knew that Sgt. Joseph Serna had been through a lot.

The former Special Forces soldier did four combat tours in Afghanistan over a nearly two-decades-long career with the U.S. Army.

Through those years, the Fayetteville Observer reported, Serna was almost killed three times: once, by a roadside bomb, then again by a suicide bomber.

During a tour in 2008, Serna and three other soldiers were driving down a narrow dirt road in Kandahar when their armored truck toppled into a canal, the Associated Press reported. As water filled the vehicle, Serna struggled to escape.  More

soldierA young soldier was found by his fellow servicemen after being missing for 23 days in the dense jungle.

Without food or water he survived by drinking his own urine and ate a raw tortoise, as he sang his favourite rap songs to keep himself calm.

Members of ‘Leavenworth 10′ languish in military prison, while Gitmo detainees freed

Posted By Staff

Date: March 26th, 2016

ftThe Obama administration is emptying the military’s Guantanamo Bay detention facility of avowed terrorists captured fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, but several American service members languish in another military prison for actions on those same battlefields that their supporters say merit clemency, if not gratitude.

Among the prison population at Fort Leavenworth, in Kansas, are remaining members of the so-called “Leavenworth 10,” convicted service members doing terms ranging from 10 to 40 years for heat-of-the-battle decisions their supporters say saved American lives.

“The very people who protect our freedoms and liberties are having their own freedoms and liberties taken away,” said retired U.S. Army Col. Allen West, a former congressman and political commentator.

“I think it’s appalling and no one is talking about this issue.”  More

Heroic War Dogs With Handlers Who Want To Adopt Them Are Being Dumped

Posted By Staff

Date: February 14th, 2016

war dogUSA – Military servicemen who want to adopt the heroic dogs who fought with them are being ignored while the animals are instead allegedly dumped by the company who supplies them to the military.

Under Robby’s Law, enacted in 2000, and a provision in the 2016 Defense Department budget, the dogs, who help to save the soldiers by detecting hidden bombs, are to be brought stateside by the government if they are being retired, The Washington Times notes.

The servicemen who were the dogs handlers, or their family members if they are deceased or severely wounded, are to be first in line for their adoption.

Daniel, an active Army soldier, has been waiting three years to adopt Oogie who served with him in Afghanistan, a New York Post investigation found.  More
