Posted By Staff

Date: July 13th, 2015

flagOcala – Thousands of Confederate flag supporters rallied in central Florida on Sunday afternoon.

The blue-and-red-clad drivers of some 2,000 trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles flocked to the town of Ocala for a 17-mile parade in support of county officials’ decision to return the stars and bars to a site outside a Marion County government complex, The Ocala Star-Banner reported.

Someone reportedly fired at least six gunshots in the direction of the “Florida Southern Pride Ride,” but no one was injured, according to WFTV.

Police tweaked the parade route after receiving word of threats against the demonstrators in one of the town’s neighborhoods, the Star-Banner reported. Attendees were wearing t-shirts with slogans like “Heritage not hate” as they defended the rebel symbol.  More

Date: June 29th, 2015

nbcNew York – NBC has cut ties with Donald Trump after the GOP hopeful, in his announcement to run for president, described immigrants from Mexico as “bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the network said in a statement sent to FOX411. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”

The network added that it was done with Trump’s pageants as well.

“To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC.”  More

The billionaire real estate mogul admitted in an interview taped Tuesday that he would consider asking the former talk show host and media magnate to add her name to his campaign ticket as his vice president.

“I think Oprah would be great,” Trump told ABC in an interview slated to air on “Good Morning America.” “I’d love to have Oprah. I think we’d win easily, actually.”

Soldier’s hero dog stolen by military

Posted By Staff

Date: November 9th, 2014

mattyOn July 20, 2013, Spc. Brent Grommet returned from Afghanistan with his military working dog, a Czech German shepherd named Matty.

The two had gone through basic training together, deployed together and were injured together when a roadside IED detonated.

Grommet slept on top of Matty’s crate as they flew back to the United States. Upon landing at an Air Force base in New Jersey, the two were separated — standard operating procedure.

Grommet wasn’t worried, though: According to Army regulations, if he wanted Matty, he had the sole right to adopt his military working dog. This right is colloquially known as Robby’s Law, and was signed into by President Clinton in 2000.

But Brent Grommet never saw Matty again. He says a Lt. Col. Richard Vargas absconded with Matty, and the military has done nothing to make it right.  More

Federal Government Made $20 Billion in Secret Purchases in Recent Months

Posted By Staff

Date: October 31st, 2014

starbucksWashington DC – The federal government has spent at least $20 billion in taxpayer money this year on items and services that it is permitted to keep secret from the public, according to an investigation by the News4 I-Team.

The purchases, known among federal employees as “micropurchases,” are made by some of the thousands of agency employees who are issued taxpayer-funded purchase cards.

The purchases, in most cases, remain confidential and are not publicly disclosed by the agencies.

A sampling of those purchases, obtained by the I-Team via the Freedom of Information Act, reveals at least one agency used those cards to buy $30,000 in Starbucks Coffee drinks and products in one year without having to disclose or detail the purchases to the public.  More

House of Commons Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers brought gunman down

Category: Crime, Politics

VickersCanada – House of Commons Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers was hailed across Canada as the hero who brought down a deranged gunman before he could spill any more innocent blood.

While Vickers’ position is often seen as a ceremonial gig, he has the very real job of protecting Canada’s lawmakers — which he carried out in heroic fashion on Wednesday.

He shot and killed Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, 32, who had stormed into Centre Block on Parliament just before 10 a.m., officials said.

The 58-year-old former Mountie was best known for marching a massive gold mace into the House Commons before each session. The mace is a symbol of the queen of England’s authority over Canada.  More

Monica LewinskyPhiladelphia – A tearful Monica Lewinsky on Monday recalled her love affair with President Bill Clinton and how an emerging Internet nearly destroyed her life.

“My name is Monica Lewinsky,” the former White House intern told a conference in Philadelphia, her first public speech to a large audience. “Though I have often been advised to change it … I haven’t.”

“I fell in love with my boss in a 22-year-old sort of a way. It happens. But my boss was the President of the United States,” she continued.

“I deeply regret it for many reasons. Not the least of which is that people were hurt,” she continued.  More

Paris Opera expels veiled woman during performance

operaParis – The incident took place when a veiled woman was spotted on the front row of a performance of La Traviata at the Opera Bastille, Jean-Philippe Thiellay told AFP, confirming a media report.

France brought in a law in 2011 banning anyone from wearing clothing that conceals the face in a public space, or face a 150 euro ($190) fine.

The woman was sitting just behind the conductor, visible to monitors, wearing a scarf covering her hair and a veil over her mouth and nose during the performance.

“I was alerted in the second act,” said Thiellay, adding that “some performers said they did not want to sing” if something was not done.  More

Posted By Staff

Date: September 22nd, 2014

ny trashNew York – On Sunday, tens of thousands of committed leftists held “climate change” world rallies.

Thousands descended on New York City, marching through the heart of Manhattan with a message of alarm for world leaders.

The far left activists are worried about the effects of global warming despite the fact that the US just went through its coldest winter in a century and Antarctic sea ice is at record levels.

The alarmists are worried about global warming. But, they let others worry about their trash.  More

fenceNOGALES, Arizona – On September 11, 2014, individuals or a group in Mexico hung a message to America over the U.S.-Mexico border wall condemning American support for Israel and declaring support for Palestine.

U.S. federal agents discovered the banner draped over the primary border fence in Arizona’s Yuma Sector in a restricted area that could only have been reached from Mexico.

The message also contained an image described by authorities as an anarchist symbol.

The incident was kept secret from the American public by federal authorities. Breitbart Texas exclusively obtained the leaked incident report from federal agents on the condition their identities remain private.  More

AZ SHERIFF: BORDER PATROL BAKING BIRTHDAY CAKES

Posted By Staff

Date: September 13th, 2014

cakeArizona – Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu reported that Border Patrol agents are making birthday cakes for the unaccompanied minors in their facilities at the same time that drug smugglers who have been deported multiple times keep re-entering the United States on Thursday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.

Babeu stated, “I can give you a window into this administration because just a month ago, while all this was going on, we heard, myself and countless sheriffs in Fort Worth, Texas, heard Director — he told us a story how wonderful it was these Border Patrol agents, federal law enforcement, had a birthday cake for this 13-year-old Honduran, and he’s never had a cake, and I was unglued.

I called him on that, and said, ‘how on earth have we arrived at this point where it’s become the job of our Border Patrol agents, who their sole purpose should be to protect our country and secure our border, is to do what you just said to have a birthday cake for a 13-year-old Honduran?’”

“We had drug smugglers that we arrested, and one of them was confirmed to have been deported 16 prior times, and now this is the 17th time, and guess what? We don’t catch them every time” he added.  More

U.S. Government threatened massive fine to force Yahoo to release data

Posted By Staff

Date: September 11th, 2014

bigWashington DC – The U.S. government threatened to fine Yahoo $250,000 a day in 2008 if it failed to comply with a broad demand to hand over user data that the company believed was unconstitutional, according to court documents unsealed Thursday that illuminate how federal officials forced American tech companies to participate in the NSA’s controversial PRISM program.

The documents, roughly 1,500 pages worth, outline a secret and ultimately unsuccessful legal battle by Yahoo to resist the government’s demands.

The company’s loss required Yahoo to become one of the first companies to begin providing information to PRISM, a program that gave the National Security Agency extensive access to records of online communications by users of Yahoo and other U.S.-based technology firms.  More

Citizen poll watchers expose need for scrutiny of elections

Posted By Staff

Date: September 11th, 2014

Town MeetingVermont – Counting votes behind closed doors, letting uncertified voters vote, stacking wards with majority party poll workers — questionable activities at Burlington, Vt., polling places reveal a need for greater scrutiny of elections, two citizen poll watchers say.

On Aug. 26, Wendy and Jim Robert spent the day at Burlington’s Ward 7 voter precinct to get a closer look at how elections work in the Queen City.

As voting rolled on, the Burlington residents became disturbed by what they saw — and in one case, what they weren’t allowed to see.

“Jim was told he had to leave at 7 p.m. and that no one could stay that was not an official poll worker. Everyone who was not a poll worker was escorted out of the building and the doors were then closed,” Wendy Robert told Vermont Watchdog.  More

Political calls dodge the ‘Do Not Call’ list

Posted By Staff

Date: September 10th, 2014

roboUSA – There is no way of avoiding political calls.

Unfortunately, consumers can’t do anything about it but simply hanging up the phone,” says Felicia Thompson with the Better Business Bureau. She says people get angry because they’re on the Do Not Call list, but they’re still getting political calls.

Well, there’s a reason for that. “Unfortunately, the FTC’s rule does not apply to politicians and political calls, when it comes to robo-calls,” she says.

This robo-calling exception happened back in 2003, when federal lawmakers voted to exempt themselves from the do not call list.

“Even if you’re signed up for the Do Not Call list, you will still likely get those calls,” says Thompson.  More
