A Canadian museum hosting a controversial sex exhibit for teens has raised the age limit for admission following outrage from parents and lawmakers.
“Sex: A Tell-All Exhibition,” at Canada’s Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa, includes screens displaying aroused genitals, naked statues with light-up erogenous zones and video displays prompting visitors to answer sexually explicit questions, the Ottawa Sun reports.
The exhibit was reportedly designed to “fill in gaps” left by changes to sexual education programs in the region.
The exhibit initially targeted children as young as 12. The age for admission has now been raised to 16, but younger children can still see the exhibit on field trips, the Ottawa Sun reports. Full Article

A Utah high school is learning the hard way that the government is serious about nudging students away from food it doesn’t want them to consume. Davis High School in the Salt Lake City area is having to fork over a whopping $15,000 in fines to the Feds because it accidentally sold soda through a vending machine during lunch.
Federal law requires the school to turn off its soda machines during the lunch period, which is 47 minutes a day. And Davis High school did turn off the machines in the lunch room. However, the school didn’t realize that there was another machine in the school bookstore that wasn’t being turned off. And when the food police realized it, the school was hit with a $0.75 fine per student for the duration of the offense. Full Article

The 43-year old woman’s children picked up the seven orange and green rocks on Saturday at San Onofre State Beach, which is popular with surfers and known locally as Trestles.
The rocks combusted and set the woman’s shorts on fire and continued to burn the wood floor of her Avenida Estrella house, according Capt. Marc Stone of the Orange County Fire Authority.

CBS 2′s Elise Finch spoke with residents of Toms River who are not happy with water flowing from their taps.
“The water is green coming out of the tap,” Ed Lefebvre said.
The green color doesn’t stand out in small amounts, but when residents use it in large volumes to fill up pools and bathtubs, it becomes very noticeable.

BALLSTON, NY — A woman visited a Stewart’s Shop and Curtis Lumber within a few minutes of each other Tuesday – with no clothes on.
“Have a good day,” the woman told one lumberyard employee as she traipsed out.
Curtis Lumber manager Bob Eakin, who was not at work at the time, said the woman asked a couple of employees what time it was before she left.
“No one wanted to say much to her,” he said. “It’s not a situation you want to be involved in.”
The woman – later identified by Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy III as Barbara Lafleur of Saratoga Springs – also went to a Stewart’s Shop on East Line Road. Full Article

Nearly 40 percent of Iowa State University students underestimated the amount of student loans they owe, while one in eight didn’t realize they had debt, according to research by ISU faculty and staff released Wednesday.
The financial literacy study, which surveyed 801 undergraduate Iowans in fall 2010, also found 10 percent of students underestimated their debt by more than $10,000. Only 22 percent had not taken out loans.
The results show a need for additional financial counseling to help students understand their borrowing and how it will impact their lives after graduation, researchers said. Full Article

JACKSON, MI — When her son exclaimed he found a piece of a finger in his Arby’s junior roast beef sandwich last week, Jamie Vail thought the 14-year-old was goofing around.
He wasn’t.
In his last bites, Ryan Hart said he tasted something like rubber. It was tough to chew, and he said he spit the piece of flesh from his mouth.
“I was like, ‘that gots to be a finger,’” he said Wednesday evening from his Blackman Township home.
The piece appeared to be the back of a finger, including the pad and extending beyond the first knuckle Full Article
