Category: Nutty News

noseA peculiar beauty trend has taken off in East Asia, and it is proving to be cause for concern.

Women are inserting a small set of pegs, called “nose lifter”, into their nostrils in order to make their nose look more European.

Western noses are apparently considered more attractive as they’re sharper and pointier.

The Nose Lifter set consists of two curved silicone pegs, measuring two to three centimeters long, and a hook for adjusting.

The pegs are inserted into the nostril and then adjusted to a 45-degree angle.

The result is an instant nose job without invasive and expensive surgery.  More

30A 40-year-old Montegut man charged with attempted murder rejected the state’s plea offer today because he didn’t feel the sentence was long enough.

Steven Walcott Jr., of 128 St. Matt St., is being held without bond at the jail following his arrest in May 2016 in the wake of a shooting in the 800 block of Norman Street that left a 46-year-old man in critical condition, authorities said.

Prosecutors offered Walcott a 20-year plea agreement, but Walcott turned down the offer and demanded 30.

Dressed in a red jail-issued jumpsuit and seated in a wheelchair, Walcott also asked to represent himself in the case even though the court had appointed public defender Michael Billiot as his attorney.  More

rabbitsWARSAW, Poland — The Polish government is encouraging citizens to go forth and multiply like rabbits.

The health ministry of Poland, which has one of the lowest birth rates in Europe, has put out a short video praising rabbits for producing many offspring.

The YouTube video shows rabbits munching on lettuce and carrots while a rabbit “narrator” reveals the secret of their big families — exercise, a healthy diet and little stress.

The brief appearance of a human couple enjoying a romantic picnic hints that a little romance might help, and a wine glass turned upside down suggested an anti-alcohol message.  More
